Yesterday I took a long hike to Wolfe’s Neck State Park in Freeport, Maine. I’ve been working on getting at least 10,000 steps daily. It’s a nice park with lots of picnic tables in the shade and even a wheelchair accessible trail.
Recently I finally had time to check out the Chandler Brook Preserve in North Yarmouth, ME. I liked how simple the trails were where there was a loop though I wish they were more clearly marked.
I grew up near by but wasn’t aware of these trails. I liked how beautiful the field trails were then you get into the woods. The trails are groomed well and a good spot to stretch your legs.
Today I checked out Mount Agamenticus in York, Maine. I drove up to the summit then hiked down then back up the summit. Probably should have planned that better but it was my first time there and was quite a workout. Weather was cool but that was fine since I was moving the whole time. I highlighted on the trail map where I went.
I’ve been working at building endurance at hiking and recently completed the trails on the west side of Bradbury Mountain State Park. It’s getting easier and I like having a park close by.
Today I checked out the Knight’s Pond Preserve in Cumberland, Maine. I got lots of steps in checking out the trails.
I’ve been really wanting to build my endurance with hiking. I have a goal to visit all the National Parks and want to be able to do a few hikes when I go. Today I went to Bradbury Mountain State Park in Pownal that is close by. The mountain really isn’t that big at 407 elevation but to get to the summit it is steep. It’s the one thing I’m trying to improve on so its good practice. I was slow but did make my way to the top and took another path down. I’ll going to try going to practice and see if it gets easier.
