We took a trip to Rockland and I finally got to go to Project Puffin. I love puffins and watched the 20 minute video. It was cool to see how much progress has been made to bring the puffins back to the islands where they used to live.
We checked out the Draken Viking ship that is a replica that was built and sailing into Maine. It was cool to see and hear what it’s like living on the ship.
A stop in Rockland is not complete without a stop at Wasses Hotdogs.
I recently got to have dinner with friends at El Corazon in Portland, Maine. They serve Mexican food. We all got the sun devil platters to try a bunch of different things. I liked the fish taco and would like to go back to try more off their menu. My friend that used to live in New Mexico was a big fan of their food.
I’ve been making it a challenge to visit all the state parks. I was surprised by the Range Pond State Park with it’s nice beach and facilitates. I will have to go back and check it out again.
Over the weekend we attended the Moxie Festival. Though I’m not a fan of the soda we had a good time.
I was excited to finally get to try Pinky D’s Poutine food truck. I tried the buffalo chicken and it was delicious and very filling.
Yesterday I took a long hike to Wolfe’s Neck State Park in Freeport, Maine. I’ve been working on getting at least 10,000 steps daily. It’s a nice park with lots of picnic tables in the shade and even a wheelchair accessible trail.
Today my plans didn’t end as planned so I decided to stop by Lazzari in Portland. It’s a nice place where you can grab a drink. I tried the pancetta and Brussels sprouts pizza. Honestly it was okay though pricey. I felt like the place is more of a bar than a pizzeria.
